Dear Fellow Creatives
We have 5 books currently under production at different stages - and a slew of enquiries for new projects. It is one of those times in our history when people are seriously pondering their purpose and what mark they want to leave on the world. They have stopped waiting for a 'publisher,’ and have taken matters into their own hands vis a vis their written projects. And as a lifelong reader and writer - I am so glad.
The books we are dealing with have enormous value to the community - from wisdoms (ancient and modern), to story-telling and narrative, to capturing periods of time that can teach us, enrich us, guide us.
Welcome to our own community of storytellers. We produce audiobooks in an author-focussed way, with enormous respect for the performers who work with us.
Currently, I am sitting in the studio with Caroline L George as we work our way through 5 or 6 different accents - learning about Ghandi's vision of India prior to the British quitting the country. Amazing - thank you Manjula Waldron - author of Love Partitioned. And, I have been working with April Simone - author of Pain as a Portal - preparing for her self-narration in a few weeks time.
In the meantime Tamala Shelton has just finished the first draft narration of the astonishing Some People Want to Shoot Me by Wayne Bergmann and Madelaine Dickie - while The Self Made Saint is being finalised for upload (Lisa Armytage swiftly delivering Alexandra Addams' beautifully crafted novel).
I can't wait to get started on Gaia's Village! Saeko Angwin - I know you will be bowled over by the hugely talented voices rolling in.
Cheers,
Maria

Voice Performer Call Out Reminder - Gaia Village

Our latest audition call-out is now open for submissions.
Gaia Village by Saeko Angwin is a 24,000 word book about realising one’s true self by creating an authentic world of one’s own.
This book seeks to understand the old illusory world by exploring the illusory self shaped by our traumas rather than pursuing "justice" that serves only our illusory self and does not grant us freedom. Self-exploration, introspection, and self-expansion with the eyes of innocence allow us to uncover who we truly are.
We are looking for a female-sounding voice that embodies the curiosity and energy at the heart of this book. The author is open to a range of accents.
Click the button below to go to the audition form with full information about the project, audition script, and more information about the book.
Auditions close Sunday 23 February at midnight.
We look forward to hearing your auditions!
If this call-out is not right for you, but you know someone who would be perfect, please forward this along!
Production Updates
Now Available

Fiona Foley: Provocateur by Louise-Martin Chew is now available on all major audiobook platforms. This memoir of the renowned artist is both a journalistic account of her life and career and a story of friendship. Christina Percival is the voice of the author and Tabatha Saunders speaks the words of Fiona Foley. This was very much a collaborative project, imbued with an artistic spirit. We could not be more proud of this audiobook.
In Production

Mics have been ON since the start of 2025, with several new audiobooks in the works.
The brilliant Tamala Shelton is recording Wayne Bergmann and Madelaine Dickie's remarkable memoir Some People Want to Shoot Me (published by Fremantle Press) at Squaresound in Melbourne. This is an important and personal story, and Wayne and Madelaine are working at studios in Western Australia to record their Acknowledgements.
Over in the UK, Lisa Armytage is performing The Self-Made Saint, a heartfelt and funny novel by Alexandra Addams (published by High Frequency Press and coming out in all formats later this year). We are delighted to be working with Lisa again after her masterful work last year on Judy King's Agnes.
Caroline L George is the perfect voice for Manjula Waldon's Love Partitioned, a historical novel informed by Manjula's journey as a refugee during this turbulent time of the Partition of India and Pakistan. Recording now at Echidna Audio.

April Simone is self-narrating her therapy-based book, Pain as a Portal (published by The Kind Press). With recording set for April, she and Maria have been working closely, rehearsing for the narration process and ensuring the manuscript is ready to go from text to audio.
Do you have a book that should be an audiobook? Please be in touch to speak with us about the specifics of your project.
Nina Angelo’s Story on SBS

We were heartened to hear the voice of the late Lex Marinos speaking the story of Nina Angelo’s father, Albert, on this recent SBS Wold News story.
SBS spoke to Nina about a new Holocaust Memorial Museum being being in Thessaloniki, Greece, to honour Jews deported primarily to Auschwitz in the WWII occupation - including Nina’s father.
Nina’s memoir, Don’t Cry, Dance tells her family’s story, including Albert’s devastating Holocaust history. It was our privilege to turn this book into an audiobook in 2022, with Lex, Alice Ansara and Maria Issaris narrating.
