Audiobooks and Library Collections

Once their audiobook is complete, many authors want to know how their friends, families and fans can find it in their local library. Here is some information that may help with navigating those digital collections.

Distributors that our authors use like Author’s Republic and Voices INAudio (formerly Findaway) distribute to worldwide platforms, which include library apps. Overdrive and Hoopla are the primary portals, and some libraries may also use cloudLibrary from Bibliotheca. Users will need to determine which platform their library uses and access the collection with their library card.

Hoopla users should find available titles by searching, but may need to filter for “Flex titles” if the library hasn’t placed it as an instant book.

If searching your library’s digital collection doesn’t turn up your audiobook, we recommend speaking to the library staff to go through the process of requesting they add it to their collection.
