Global Production of audiobooks!

Hello Fellow Creatives,

Seniors Stories vol 10

This morning we just emerged from our first meeting with Richa Bulchandani who is managing the annual Seniors’ Stories Anthology Volume 10 (!!) project - an annual competition and showcase for the Department of Communities and Justice. We are swinging into action to ensure we have an audiobook version ready by the November launch. We really look forward to this challenge every year 9our 3rd!) and are honoured to be entrusted with so many beautiful stories form elders in our community.

Thanks to auditionees - Fiona Foley - Provocateur

Much gratitude to those performers who auditioned for our production of Louise Martin-Chew’s excellent art bio of the stunning Fiona Foley. Two voices will enact this living and vivid conversation between artist and biographer. Hot off the production team meeting is Wen Gibson's refined yet raw memoir. The call out is attached and the person chosen will be a very special person indeed. And, in the thick of production is Agnes - with an international team. Details below! Many thanks this month to our intrepid audio engineer (and Echidna Audio founder) Marty Gallagher. We presented together at the State Library, and spent many hours in the studio experimenting with voices. Cristin Kelly, our resident dramaturg and Project Manager, is juggling everything in very capable hands - including the two school age kids. And Dylan Taylor is remotely working his magic with our back end material. Thank you fellow team members. Maria

Book lovers never pass up the chance to spend some time in the beautiful State Library of NSW, so we were extra pleased to accept an invitation from Jane Turner to present on the 'how to' of audiobook production at her day-long event.

What better example to provide than a recent success story - Mark Rosenberg's book, Mastering Hard Conversations. Maria and audio engineer Marty spoke with Mark about his experience self-narrating and seeing his audio version reach #1 on the Amazon Hot List for audiobooks!

Our favourite fun fact from the conversation - Mark decided on producing his audiobook because his kids said they wouldn’t read his book otherwise!

Thank you to Jane Turner and presenter Tim Stackpool for a great event.
