Dear Fellow Creatives,
Marketing your book is the most vital component of your post-writing process. And why wait until you are published? Several of our authors have forged pathways for ensuring their book is already on people's radar before their book 'hits the shelves'. Online and hard copy pamphlets, attracting a subscriber list of people who are interested in the manuscript’s progress and subject/theme, a website journaling your work and thoughts, and all that goes into reaching the stage of closing the laptop and saying 'finished!'.
We provide a heap of production updates for our authors as a matter of course - no charge - but it is up to individual authors (no matter how they are published or by whom) to be creative about getting attention for their finished work - and that impetus seems to come very much from the passion that went into developing that manuscript in the first place!
Just in time for our summary of uploaded books is a brand new audition call-out! A beautiful book by an astonishing author - Caroline Anne Butt - tackling a subject that has only just now reached attention. My favourite part of this job (almost) is listening to the incredible talent of people who audition!!
Do contact us if you have any questions about audiobook production processes. It's what we do day in day out, and love it.

New Audition Call Out: The Steering Wheel by Caroline Anne Butt

Our latest voice performer call out is now open.
For The Steering Wheel by Caroline Anne Butt, the ideal voice will be female-sounding, voice-aged in their 30s. A soft Australian accent is preferred. As to tone - the ability to traverse humour and lightness of spirit to the terrain of vulnerability and stalwartness. This is a 65,000 word book.
Blurb: It's the 1970s and Anne thought a fresh start in a northern town would be the adventure of a lifetime. But her husband, Thomas, has other plans. While he is busy with his career, Anne struggles to adapt to a new culture, a growing family, and a marriage that seems to be unravelling in ways she doesn't understand. As the years pass, Anne finds herself tangles in an emotional web she can't escape - a web of coercive control that, at the time, didn't have a name.
Auditions for The Steering Wheel close 10 August. We look forward to hearing your voices!
If this call-out is not right for you, but you know a performer who may be perfect, please send it along.
